Once upon a time, there was a very, very, very famous movie cowboy hero named Roy Rogers (he stayed famous in the early years of TV with his own show). He was known as "the King of the Cowboys" and he was played by an actor named... Roy Rogers. That was his one and only role in countless "B" movies and in real life. From the 1960s through the 1980s, he lent his name to a chain of fast food restaurants in the theme of the old west(at one time numbering more than 600). They were originally owned by the Marriott Corporation. When Roy "sold" his name to sell burgers and fries, he agreed to make the occasional personal appearance at the Grand Opening of a new "Roy Rogers." This was one of the last of those appearances.
